Job summary

Engineering Resource Group seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support aerospace/defense/industrial production. You will work hands-on on the shop floor, troubleshoot tooling and equipment, and develop routings, BOMs and work instructions.

CAD design of tooling and fixtures is required, with trials, data analysis and root-cause actions to improve yield and manufacturability. NPI transfer and Lean projects are part of the role.

Qualifications

• BS mechanical or manufacturing engineering or related discipline required.
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing or production engineering experience.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with CAD and tooling design is expected.
• ITAR eligibility required.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Permanent position for a Manufacturing Engineer to support production of components for aerospace, defense and industrial markets.
• Provide hands-on engineering support on the production floor; troubleshoot process, tooling, material and equipment issues (mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic).
• Develop and maintain routings, BOMs, work instructions and process specifications.
• Design and modify tooling, molds and fixtures in CAD.
• Run engineering trials, mechanical testing and data analysis to improve process capability, yield and manufacturability.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective action to reduce scrap and rework.
• Support NPI and the transfer of new products from development into production.
• Lead Lean and continuous improvement projects with Production, Quality, Design Engineering and Maintenance.
• BS Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing or production engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of machining, tooling and production equipment, along with dimensional inspection and metrology.
• Experience writing routings, BOMs, work instructions and process specifications.
• Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD or similar) and reading engineering drawings and specifications.
• Must meet U.S. export-control (ITAR) eligibility requirements.
• AS9100, ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 quality system experience, including change control, traceability, NCR and CAPA, a plus.
• Rubber, elastomer or polymer molding (compression, transfer or injection) and mold or fixture design experience a plus.
• FEA or engineering simulation experience a plus.
