Job summary

PPG is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer at the Cleveland facility to provide engineering support for production processes. The role focuses on root cause analysis, preventative measures, and efficiency gains across plant operations, collaborating with technical, maintenance, planning, QA, RM procurement, and IT teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred).
• Focus on manufacturing processes; processing experience preferred.
• Attention to detail, strong ability to learn, and ability to manage complexity.
• Experience initiating investigations and implementing corrective actions preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as self-motivation and self-direction.

Responsibilities

• Investigate abnormalities in operations, identify root causes, and establish preventative measures for department owners.
• Drive corrective actions and complete change initiatives.
• Engineer re-work streams for non-conforming products.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends and reduce cycle times.
• Identify need for and request changes to standards or formulas to optimize processes.
• Lead process optimization projects, including CapEx initiatives.
• Participate in Kaizen events and support related activities.
• Troubleshoot process/product issues, including possible evening/weekend support.
• Develop standard work and train operators on new processes.
