Job summary

Adient US LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for safe, efficient production. You will collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership to optimize operations and drive cost and quality improvements.

The role involves developing processes, tooling, and layouts; supporting prototype builds and launches; applying new technologies; ensuring manufacturability; maintaining PFMEA, control plans, and process flows; and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, electrical or related field.
  • 3+ years' manufacturing engineering experience (automotive preferred).
  • Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD modeling software for detailed drawings and assemblies.
  • Experience with MODAPTS for work measurement and process improvement.
  • Strong PFMEA knowledge and application.
  • Hands-on experience implementing manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, and controls.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flows, and Operator Instruction Sheets.
  • Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and validate manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, and controls.
  • Analyze labor utilization, equipment needs, workflow, and layout to maximize efficiency.
  • Support prototype development, builds, and production launches.
  • Apply new manufacturing technologies to reduce costs and improve quality and efficiency.
  • Participate in product design reviews to ensure manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
  • Prepare and evaluate manufacturing studies on cost, quality, inventory, feasibility, and process capability.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements across materials, labor, tooling, and layouts.
  • Coordinate new process implementations and provide training to meet timing objectives.
  • Establish and verify poka-yoke (error-proofing) systems.
  • Act as a technical resource for process changes and continuous improvement.
  • Support new program launches and SDT/Pre-Launch activities.
  • Research and adopt state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies.
