Job summary

Gables Search Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Tech for a client in Berne, IN. The role focuses on optimizing production processes, improving safety and quality across plant operations, and designing workstation layouts.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience) and proficiency with CAD software and Microsoft Office, plus strong problem-solving and leadership abilities. On-site, commutable candidates only.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (Associate or Bachelor’s) or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with CAD software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, or basic coding is a plus

Responsibilities

• Optimize Production: Conduct time studies, build Bills of Labor, and set labor rates.
• Design & Layout: Create CAD drawings for workstations, plant layouts, and material flow systems.
• Drive Efficiency: Build kanban systems, write clear operator work instructions, and automate processes to improve safety and throughput.
• Analyze & Improve: Perform cost analysis, root-cause problem solving, and material/equipment testing
