Job summary

Sub-Zero, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement within our Madison, WI facility.

You will identify and implement process improvements, redesign workstations, support ERP data accuracy, and help meet KPIs such as safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction. Collaborating with operators, engineers, and maintenance staff, you will participate in Design For Manufacturing activities and develop tools for line balancing, time standards,

Qualifications

• Bachelors or better in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 1-5 years hand-on experience in a manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

• Establish safety and quality as top priorities throughout manufacturing practices, procedures, and equipment
• Identify, develop, justify, and implement manufacturing and business process improvements to increase capacity and reduce waste, while improving quality and on-time delivery to our customers
• Work together with operators, engineers, and maintenance techs to redesign the production workstations to improve material flow and reduce waste
• Participate in “Design For Manufacturing” activities to error-proof and simplify manufacturing processes
• Develop and maintain assembly process management tools to support manpower calculation, line balancing, time standards, work instructions, and process control
• Maintain product and process specific ERP data
• Investigate and resolve Quality Non-Conformances
• Actions must demonstrate commitment and belief of “continuous improvement” for personal and team development, as well as manufacturing process improvements
• Understand plant performance and KPI tracking, set actions based on data that contribute to the efforts to meet or exceed KPIs, including Safety, Quality, Throughput, labor Efficiency, First Pass Yield, and Cost Reduction.
• Possess the desire and the skills to learn about variety of assembly processes
• Participate in manufacturing capacity increase initiatives to support sales growth

Education
