Descripción de la vacante

Galadyne in Austin seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to take flight hardware from drawings to repeatable production processes. You will own process sequences, line layouts, and quality plans, collaborating with Design, Quality, and Production to hand a stable ramped process to manufacturing.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, documentation, and close teamwork to ensure throughput targets and process capability are achieved during ramp and production.

Formación

  • 5+ years developing and launching manufacturing processes from prototype into production.
  • Hands-on support during launch and ramp.
  • Experience with line and workstation layout, process balance, takt time, and capacity analysis.
  • Knowledge of PMTS such as MOST or MODAPTS for work measurement.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, control plans, process capability, and Lean methods.
  • Proficiency with Simio or similar simulation tools and with CAD software (NX or equivalent).
  • Strong GD&T skills and ability to close loop from drawing to fixture to measured result.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead cross-functional process and manufacturing readiness reviews with Design, Quality, Tooling, Equipment, and Production.
  • Develop, document, and implement manufacturing processes — process flows, work instructions, routings, cycle time studies, standard work.
  • Own line and workstation layout development and reviews, including product flow, material presentation, ergonomics, and Lean line configuration.
  • Partner with Design on early DFM feedback and datum strategies; support tooling and fixture selection.
  • Define critical process parameters; develop PFMEAs, control plans, inspection standards, and first-article plans.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and production launch; optimize cycle time, line balance, and process parameters to hit rate, yield, and quality targets.
  • Support ERP/MRP by defining process and routing data, including stations, cycle times, BOMs, and demand.

Descripción del empleo

Manufacturing Engineers at Galadyne take flight hardware from drawings and design intent to a process that can be repeated, measured, and ramped in Austin. This role owns the process sequence, station count and layout, process controls, quality plan, and the evidence that the line will hold quality and rate. You develop the process and quality documentation and hand a stable process to Production. The work is hands-on and requires close collaboration with Design, Quality, and Production.

Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional process and manufacturing readiness reviews with Design, Quality, Tooling, Equipment, and Production to ensure processes are feasible, capable, and ready for rate.
  • Develop, document, and implement manufacturing processes — process flows, work instructions, routings, cycle time studies, standard work — and maintain change control and BOM alignment through launch.
  • Own line and workstation layout development and reviews, including product flow, material presentation, ergonomics, and Lean line configuration. Develop and maintain process balance, takt and cycle time plans, bottleneck analysis, and capacity models using industrial engineering tools such as Simio or equivalent to meet throughput targets.
  • Partner with Design on early DFM feedback and locating and datum strategies. Support tooling and fixture selection. Own dimensional control through pilot and ramp from drawing to fixture to measured result.
  • Define critical process parameters. Develop and maintain PFMEAs, control plans, inspection standards, and first-article plans. Implement process capability methods to reduce variation and sustain quality performance. Track scrap, rework, and escape metrics.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and production launch. Own process performance through ramp with Production to optimize cycle time, line balance, and process parameters to hit rate, yield, and quality targets.
  • Support the in-house ERP and MRP by defining process and routing data, including stations, cycle times, BOMs, and demand.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years developing and launching manufacturing processes from prototype into production, including hands-on support during launch and ramp.
  • Experience with line and workstation layout, process balance, takt time, and capacity analysis.
  • Working knowledge of predetermined motion time systems (PMTS) such as MOST, MODAPTS, or equivalent for work measurement and time standards.
  • Working knowledge of PFMEA, control plans, process capability, and Lean methods.
  • Proficiency with Simio or equivalent industrial engineering simulation tools and with NX or similar CAD software.
  • Strong GD&T skills and ability to close the loop from drawing to fixture to measured result.
  • Working knowledge of BOMs and process cost drivers. Experience with ERP or MRP systems is a plus.
