Job description

Supply Chain Manager s at Galadyne turn a flight-hardware BOM into parts and materials that arrive on time, at the right quality, and at a cost that supports rate. This role owns what we buy, from whom, and on what terms. The buy covers raw materials, chemicals and propellants, machined and fabricated hardware, fluid and mechanical components, and electrical and electronic hardware. You qualify the sources and place the orders that keep hardware moving. You work daily with Design, Manufacturing, and Production. Lead time, unit cost, and part quality are hard constraints. You need to already know how automotive and aerospace supply chains actually work.

Responsibilities
  • Own the buy across those categories, including ground support. For every purchased item, name the capable suppliers, the lead time, the unit cost at prototype and at rate, and the risk if the source slips.
  • Source it through mills and service centers, special-process and machine shops, tiered component suppliers, and electrical and electronics vendors. Own RFIs, RFQs, and supplier agreements, with price, delivery, quality, tooling, ITAR, and change control settled before award. Justify the source on capability, capacity, lead time, risk, and cost, and recommend one.
  • Cover the commodity, not only the PO. Keep a sourcing strategy, a should-cost, and a read on the market for the parts and materials that set cost and lead time. Drive cost reduction by negotiation, lot size, process choice, and spec trade. Close long-lead and sole-source issues in design review, not after the PO.
  • Run the buy through pilot and ramp. Place sample orders, own first-article buy-off, and hand a kitted, rev-correct part to Production. Plan long-lead items, chemicals, and electrical hardware as scheduled demand. Visit the suppliers. Keep inventory honest.
  • Help select, configure, and load an ERP and MRP from scratch — item master, BOM, suppliers, lead times, and demand — so pilot buys run in the tool. Keep the data clean enough that Production can trust it.
  • Qualify suppliers and then manage them: process control, material certs, counterfeit avoidance on electrical hardware, traceability, and a repeatable first article. After award, own scorecards, disputes, dual-source where one supplier can stop the build, and a shortage review Production can run without you.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Electrical, or Supply Chain Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years sourcing production hardware in automotive, aerospace, or both — not only buying catalog parts. You have sourced raw materials, chemicals, machined hardware, mechanical components, and electrical hardware, qualified the sources, and lived with the parts after they landed.
  • Working fluency in both supply chains. Automotive: mill metal, machine shops, mechanical components, and electrical hardware bought to a cost and a rate. Aerospace: traceability, first article, special process, and ITAR. You can tell which rule set applies to which part.
  • You can read a drawing and a spec well enough to know when a quote is wrong, and you have negotiated terms, not only unit price. Working command of should-cost, BOMs, rev control, material certs, and first-article packages.
  • Hands-on with RFQs, capacity checks, and supplier visits. Comfortable changing the source when the first parts miss print.
  • You have stood up or heavily configured an ERP and MRP, not only run one that already existed, and can help build it from scratch without losing a part.
  • Experience with AS9100, counterfeit avoidance, or defense hardware is a plus.
