Job summary

Amazon Manufacturing Services (AMS) seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to join our advanced manufacturing team. The role centers on new product introduction, process development, and equipment selection to scale production while meeting quality, throughput, and cost targets.

The engineer will collaborate with product engineering, operations, and supply chain to evaluate technologies, drive continuous improvement, and support site launches and expansions, including DFM input during design cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience in a production environment.
• Experience with prototyping and implementation of new products or processes.
• Experience with capital equipment selection, specification, or commissioning.
• Experience evaluating or integrating automation (robotics, vision systems, or automated material handling) into production lines.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, or equivalent certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• New Product & Process Introduction — define process flows, work instructions, tooling, and acceptance criteria for scaled manufacturing.
• Machinery & Equipment Selection — assist with capital equipment evaluation, vendor assessments, installation and qualification at AMS sites.
• Manufacturing Technology & Automation Evaluation — research and recommend automation to improve throughput, quality, and cost.
• Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement — analyze production lines to reduce bottlenecks and increase capacity.
• Design for Manufacturability (DFM) — provide manufacturing input during product design reviews for scalable production.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration — coordinate with product engineering, operations, supply chain, and site launch teams.
• Process Control & Quality Systems — develop control plans and inspection methodologies to ensure consistent output.
• Site Launch & Expansion Support — provide hands‑on support for new site launches and capacity expansions.
• Documentation & PLM Management — manage product data and engineering changes in PLM systems.
