Job summary

PACCAR Inc is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for its Engine Plant in Columbus, MS. The role focuses on developing and managing technical training and product manufacturability. Ideal candidates will possess a B.S. in Engineering and have 3-5 years of manufacturing experience.

You will work closely with Department Managers to identify training gaps and implement best practices within the engineering group, contributing to product launch and process improvements.

Qualifications

Manufacturing Engineer Machining SG 23

Location: Columbus, MS, US, 39701

Requisition Summary

This position is responsible for the development, management, and coordination of technical training throughout the PACCAR Engine Plant in Columbus, MS. The Technical Training Coordinator will interface with Department Managers to identify technical training gaps and work with external organizations to meet training and development needs. This role also supports continued development of diesel, craft tech, and other programs.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Review new product designs for manufacturability
  • Provide production impact and cost analysis for new product designs
  • Develop and refine processes for new product launch
  • Create or update SOPs, PFMEAs, and layouts for new product
  • Maintain and report status of project schedules
  • Specify and procure necessary tools and equipment for new products
  • Participate in simultaneous engineering for new product development projects
  • Plan, define, and implement equipment changes within the project time frame
  • Coordinate with equipment suppliers for outsourced modifications
  • Define equipment modifications with flexibility for future design and volume expansion
  • Apply best practices from the Manufacturing Engineering group
  • Update control documents per ISO requirements for new product
  • Design and implement shop aids and fixtures
Qualifications & Skills Required
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing preferred)
  • Proven problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work self‑directed within a project team environment
  • Demonstrated leadership and influence skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, emphasizing Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience in a simultaneous engineering project environment
  • Experience with CAD and/or CREO Parametric
  • 3‑5 years minimum manufacturing experience with process and product knowledge
