Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Morton Grove, IL facility. This onsite role focuses on improving safety, quality, productivity, and delivery through continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.

You’ll lead process improvements, optimize operations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive standards, PFMEAs, and production metrics while supporting new product introductions and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
• 2-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in machining, assembly, welding, or industrial environments.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and manufacturing best practices.
• Experience collaborating with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive Manufacturing Excellence: support operations through process improvements, capital projects, and equipment optimization.
• Develop efficient manufacturing processes, routings, tooling requirements, and production standards.
• Analyze bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
• Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and production performance metrics.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions to improve quality and reduce defects.
• Support ISO 9001, UL, ASME, and other regulatory and quality audits.
• Facilitate Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping initiatives.
• Assist with equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and validation.
