Job summary
Atlas Copco Group in Shakopee, MN, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and improve processes, reduce product cost, and increase operational efficiency on the shop floor.
You will drive lean initiatives, support NPI, create routings and tooling, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth design-to-production transitions.
The role requires a bachelor’s in mechanical/manufacturing engineering with 4+ years in manufacturing and strong CAD/ERP experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred; sciences accepted with manufacturing/operations experience.
Responsibilities
- Provides manufacturing engineering support to the operations team.
- Drives continuous improvement in quality, cycle times, cost reduction and process improvement using lean techniques.
- Eliminates routing and material variances impacting financial results.
- Performs time studies to optimize assembly routings and balance lines.
- Defines/sets up manufacturing tooling and fixtures, including automated equipment.
- Maintains work procedures and specifications for equipment and test processes.
- Trains workforce and ensures traceability to sustain competencies.
- Collaborates with other departments and suppliers to resolve component and product quality issues.
- Supports successful new product introductions and smooth design-to-production transitions.
- Manages Engineering Change Orders using ERP and CAD systems.
