Job summary

Big Belly Solar in Methuen, MA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations Team and help build internal manufacturing and development capabilities. This 100% in-person role reports to the Sr.

Ops Engineering Manager and involves cross-functional collaboration to drive quality, cost, and process innovation. You will lead projects to improve manufacturability, reduce touch time, and implement new equipment, while working with Engineering on NPI and ensuring ISO 9001 compliant

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering.
8+ years of electromechanical manufacturing experience.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; DOE experience preferred.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma DMAIC methodologies; Green Belt preferred.
Proficient with CAD/PLM tools including SolidWorks and Arena PLM.

Responsibilities

Champion safety compliance across the operation to protect personnel.
Lead cost-reduction projects by improving manufacturability and routing efficiency.
Collaborate with Engineering to introduce new equipment and processes for NPI.
Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions and ISO 9001 aligned documentation.
Lead mid- to high-level projects and report status to leadership.
