Silgan Closures in Evansville, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead capital projects, improvement initiatives, and equipment reliability. You will support multiple plants and drive safety, quality, and cost reductions across operations.

The role requires a bachelor's in engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, and strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Occasional travel up to 50% is expected to support Hazleton PA, Richmond IN, and Evansville IN sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field
• Ability to travel up to 50% to assist plants in Hazleton PA, Richmond IN and Evansville IN
• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering or related experience
• Experience leading engineering projects in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
• Experience using AutoCAD or similar design software
• Strong financial and project budgeting experience
• Experience with PFMEA and process improvement methodologies
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects from planning and budgeting through implementation and completion
• Develop, improve, and redesign manufacturing safety systems per Silgan standards and OSHA
• Identify cost reduction, scrap reduction, and productivity opportunities
• Drive continuous improvement to increase manufacturing efficiency and product quality
• Improve equipment reliability and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
• Support energy reduction and sustainability initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on engineering projects
• Deliver training on new technologies, systems, and processes
