Job summary

A. Stucki Company in Louisville, KY, is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes.

This role focuses on safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency across Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Operations teams. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Automation Engineering and 7+ years of manufacturing experience with Lean/Six Sigma, robotics, and automation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Automation Engineering is required.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience supporting machining, fabrication, assembly, metalworking, or industrial manufacturing operations is strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization projects is preferred.
  • Experience with capital projects, equipment implementation, and manufacturing process development is preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with automation solutions, robotics, robotic programming, and manufacturing process automation is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Analyze production workflows and identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce cycle times, and eliminate waste.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, standard work instructions, manufacturing routings, and operational procedures.
  • Support daily manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other operational excellence methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to improve process reliability and equipment effectiveness.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to quality, production, safety, and equipment concerns.
  • Develop and implement process controls to improve product consistency and manufacturing performance.
  • Lead capital improvement projects, including equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and process validation.
  • Analyze production data and KPIs to identify trends and drive data-based decision making.
  • Evaluate facility layouts, material flow, and workstation designs to improve efficiency and ergonomics.
  • Support new product introductions through process development, manufacturing readiness, and production launch activities.
  • Work with suppliers and equipment vendors to evaluate manufacturing technologies and implement process improvements.
  • Assist in establishing labor standards, capacity planning, and production forecasting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Participate in cost reduction initiatives and recommend process improvements that improve profitability and operational performance.
