Job summary

Avna is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Connecticut to optimize process capability for the assigned product group. You will develop and verify processes, analyze flows, implement improvements, and monitor performance to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals.

You will liaison between design, production, quality and maintenance, drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives, and support NPI and engineering changes to sustain and enhance line performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a engineering discipline and 3–7 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience supporting a dedicated product line preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production systems.
  • Proficiency with Lean, Six Sigma and root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance in process designs.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to implement process controls and best practices.
  • Train operators on new processes, equipment, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance during equipment installation, qualification, and maintenance troubleshooting.
  • Update and maintain production standards in ERP and develop process instructions and SOPs.
  • Collaborate to reduce setup times, improve cycle times and reduce scrap.
  • Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Design and validate tooling, fixtures, and process layouts for ergonomic operations.
  • Monitor KPIs: throughput, downtime, quality metrics.
  • Participate in Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma initiatives.
