Job summary

BWXT is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern for on-site work in Euclid, Ohio. You will support process engineering tasks within a team to ensure timely, cost-effective completion and meet customer expectations.

The role requires enrollment in a BS program in Mechanical Engineering or ME Technology, familiarity with drawings and tolerancing, and strong communication across disciplines. Duties include SAP routings, CAD support, and tooling assessment.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Basic familiarity with engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.
• Strong communications skills and ability to work with multiple disciplines in support of manufacturing production hardware.
• Microsoft Office, SAP, TopSolid, Siemens NX, Vericut, and Crash Guard Studio experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to contract technical requirements while developing and maintaining step-by-step process plans in the manufacturing of Control Rod Drive Mechanisms.
• Monitor manufacturing processes and implement improvements to ensure safety, quality and efficiency to meet delivery and cost requirements.
• Generate SAP routings based on step-by-step process plans.
• Assist in developing CAD drawings detailing process steps, fixturing, tooling and setup instructions.
• Assist in design, development, test/source, and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for manufacturing methods.
• Collaborate with internal departments, customers and vendors to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Propose and participate in continuous improvement projects to improve safety, quality, delivery or cost.
• Other engineering tasks as required.
