Job summary

Karman Space & Defense in Mount Vernon, WA, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to ensure producibility, quality, and efficiency across the full product lifecycle. You will influence early design decisions, develop production processes, and support continuous improvement with cross‑functional teams.

The role requires a BS in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering and at least 4 years of fabrications/assembly experience, strong blueprint reading, GD&T, and problem‑solving skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with GD&T.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Drives design for manufacturability and guides early development decisions.
• Mentors junior manufacturing engineers to strengthen team capabilities.
• Establishes, monitors, and validates production processes and controls.
• Designs, develops, and implements fixtures, tools, and inspection gauges for fabrication and assembly.
• Coordinates material and resource planning with product teams to support schedule adherence.
• Leads manufacturing workflow planning and production line setup to optimize efficiency.
• Solves complex technical problems using data and inspection tools.
• Collaborates with engineers across disciplines to ensure cohesive manufacturing execution.
