Job summary

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components to help customers push the frontiers of innovation. The Manufacturing Engineer designs and plans layout for layup, cure, machining, bonding, painting, and assembly of composite materials and structures.

You will adapt machines and equipment to production conditions, plan facility layouts for efficiency, and specify fabrication procedures.

Qualifications

  • BS in designated Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in a production and assembly environment with composite materials.

Responsibilities

  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles in composites materials and processing.
  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems aligned with organizational goals.
  • Work under general direction, independently determining approaches to solutions.
  • Contribute to completion of specific programs and projects.
  • Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action / Nonconformance Disposition (MRB).
  • Plan layout for layup, cure, machining, bonding, painting and assembly of composite components.

Job description

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. Our core strength is our ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components. With our unique blend of products – including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few – AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.

The Manufacturing Engineer designs and plans layout for activities such as layup, cure, machining, bonding, painting, and assembly of composite materials and structures. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Plans for the arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.

  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the composites materials and processing field
  • General knowledge of other related disciplines
