  • 3 years of experience in composites production or other specialized production environment.
  • Level II Trainer experience or prior leadership experience; Level III/IV Trainer preferred.
  • As a DoD contractor, US Persons are required to be hired.

Responsibilities

  • Work under minimal supervision and may shift manpower to meet production goals.
  • Ensure operators have everything needed for day-to-day operations.
  • Reduce waste by lean manufacturing methods; recognized for savings in yearly review.
  • Collaborate with engineering to verify BOMs, work instructions, and customer drawings.
  • Adhere to safety requirements and company procedures.
  • Supervise and train employees; handle promotions, evaluations, disciplinary actions and grievances.
  • Provide formal and OJT training to production workers.
  • Solve production-related problems and escalate unresolved issues to supervision.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.

With our unique blend of products – including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few – AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.


Coordinates with operators and support groups on day to day operations of the layup/autoclave area to ensure customer demand is being completed. Accountability for their assigned area or process as it relates to tools, tooling materials, calibrations, etc. to meet production needs and prevent upset or abnormal conditions from occurring. Train and mentor level I-III technicians. Work with senior technicians, peers, and support group members to facilitate process improvements. Reporting of daily/weekly throughputs vs goals to direct supervisor and higher levels of management in the event that the direct supervisor is unavailable.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Work under minimal supervision. May shift manpower for their assigned area or process to meet production goals.

  • Ensuring operators have everything they need to perform the day to day operation of assigned area.

  • Reduced waste by over 15% utilizing lean manufacturing methods, recognized by management in yearly review for savings.

  • Work with engineering to ensure bill of material, work instructions and customer drawings were accurate for production build.

  • Executed safety requirements by conforming to the company standards and department procedures.

  • Supervised employees, instruct employees on company policies, company procedures and department guidelines. Recommend and initiated to direct supervisor on personnel actions such as promotions, employee evaluations, disciplinary actions and resolution of grievances, maintained production and time records.

  • Provide formal and OJT training to production workers as required.

  • Solves production related problems as necessary and notifies production supervisor/manager of any problems that do not get resolved.

  • Perform other duties as required and requested by management.

Experience/Education/Skills


  • A High school diploma or GED.

  • 3 years of experience in composites production or other specialized production environment.

  • Must have Level II Trainer experience or have had previous leadership experience. Level III or Level IV, Trainer experience preferred

  • As a Department of Defense Contractor we are required to hire US Persons.
