Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer III is a seasoned and influential member of our production team, responsible for leading significant improvement initiatives, providing technical guidance across the department, and driving the independent development and implementation of solutions to enhance manufacturing processes, efficiency, and product quality. This role leverages extensive experience to identify opportunities for substantial impact and requires strong project leadership and mentoring capabilities. Panasonic Energy Corporation North America does not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Essential Duties

  • Lead and Direct Major Process Optimization Initiatives: Identify and lead significant improvements across multiple production areas.
  • Establish and Promote Effective Process Standards: Develop and champion best practices for manufacturing procedures and documentation.
  • Utilize Advanced Analysis to Drive Strategic Improvements: Employ in-depth data analysis to identify key areas for impactful change.
  • Independently Develop and Implement Systemic Solutions: Propose and deploy lasting countermeasures for complex manufacturing challenges.
  • Serve as a Technical Leader for Equipment Issues: Provide expert guidance and support for resolving critical equipment malfunctions.
  • Guide and Support Proactive Equipment Reliability Strategies: Influence and contribute to effective maintenance programs.
  • Lead and Implement Significant Automation Projects: Drive the integration and optimization of advanced automation systems.
  • Champion and Advance Quality Control Systems: Lead efforts to ensure and improve product quality standards.
  • Direct Complex Root Cause Analysis and Implement Preventative Strategies: Lead investigations into major quality issues and establish long-term solutions.
  • Independently Lead and Manage Large-Scale Improvement Projects: Oversee project planning, execution, and resource management for significant initiatives.
  • Provide Technical Guidance and Mentorship Across Teams: Share expertise and support the development of other engineers and technical staff.
  • Proactively Identify, Develop, and Implement Improvements: Independently recognize opportunities for process enhancement and drive their implementation, including safety and commissioning aspects.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

Education

Essential Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience
  • Demonstrated Leadership in Engineering Improvements: Proven ability to lead significant engineering initiatives with measurable results.
  • Extensive Manufacturing Experience and Strategic Thinking: Deep understanding of manufacturing principles and a track record of contributing to process strategy.
  • Advanced Technical Problem-Solving and Guidance Skills: Expertise in resolving complex technical issues and providing effective guidance to others.
  • Proven Ability to Independently Drive and Implement Improvements: A history of proactively identifying and successfully implementing process enhancements.
  • Strong Project Leadership and Mentoring Capabilities: Experience leading larger projects and effectively mentoring junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills at All Levels: Ability to effectively communicate and work with diverse teams and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant experience applying lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies to drive strategic improvements.
  • Proven success in leading complex equipment upgrades and automation projects.
  • Expertise in advanced quality management systems and statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement long-term manufacturing strategies.
  • Strong leadership in safety initiatives and promoting a safety-conscious culture.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
  • Extensive experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong alignment to Panasonic’s core principles with a demonstrated ability to lead by example.
  • Alignment to Panasonic’s seven (7) core principles (contribution to society, fairness and honesty, cooperation and team spirit, untiring effort for improvement, courtesy and humility, adaptability, gratitude)
