Job summary

Quality Electrodynamics, LLC seeks a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer II to develop and improve mechanical and electromechanical manufacturing processes, focusing on quality, efficiency, cost, and repeatability. You will apply DFO principles to tooling, fixtures, equipment, automation, documentation, and process controls that support sustainable low-cost production.

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience at Engineer level.
  • Experience with RF Coil manufacturing or Advanced Manufacturing preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing, 6S, Value-Stream Mapping experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives using structured problem-solving, documentation and communication methodologies.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes for mechanical and electromechanical products with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, repeatability, and cost.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure DF0 objectives for cost, manufacturability, serviceability, sustainability, quality and sourcing.
  • Design, co-design and redesign areas of new and existing products to meet project expectations.
  • Lead operations liaison for NPIs, preparing for production launch activities (design readiness, supplier readiness, production readiness).
  • Design and develop fixtures, tooling, assembly aids, and other equipment for efficient production.
  • Lead selection, specification, installation, and qualification of manufacturing equipment and automation.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, specs, procedures, flows, inspection methods).
  • Analyze performance data to identify throughput, labor efficiency, quality, capacity, ergonomics, and OEE improvements.
  • Lead investigations and root-cause analyses of issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain process controls, FMEAs, control plans, tolerances, validation, acceptance criteria.
  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing and supply partner personnel.
