Mason designs, manufactures, and markets highly engineered products and systems for aerospace and defense. The Engineer II - Manufacturing role focuses on deep manufacturing and process improvement, root cause analysis, and collaboration with design and quality teams to enable scalable production of complex components.

The position requires a Bachelor's in a related field and 3+ years of experience, with emphasis on lean methods, automation, and tooling design.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, electrical, or related engineering field.
  • 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience automating processes and implementing lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to work closely with design, quality, and production teams.
  • Experience with electronic assembly and troubleshooting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct root cause and corrective action on parts and processes that are not in control.
  • Evaluate new and existing processes to ensure quality and safety of the job.
  • Create and maintain detailed manufacturing and process instructions for complex parts and processes.
  • Establish time standards and identify new equipment, tool designs, and processes to improve consistency, accuracy, and cycle times.
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and jigs to improve manufacturing processes and support capital equipment purchases.
  • Participate in concurrent engineering to ensure new and legacy designs are manufacturable.
  • Collaborate with development engineering to successfully transition new products to production.
  • Drive and support Lean Manufacturing techniques in the shop, including value stream mapping, cellular manufacturing, set-up time reduction, and overall waste reduction.
  • Identify and spearhead continuous improvement projects to eliminate waste, reduce cycle time and lower production costs.
  • Other duties as assigned
