Job summary

Lavazza Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II for its West Chester, PA facility. The role focuses on leading equipment projects, bridging R&D and Manufacturing to ensure safe, efficient production of premium coffee products, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to sustain quality and supply.

The position requires a strong background in mechanical/electrical engineering, 7+ years in manufacturing, and hands-on experience with automation, CAD tools, and Six Sigma methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience commissioning automated processing or packaging equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting automation systems (PLCs, servo systems, VFDs).
• Experience developing technical specs, plans and equipment documentation.
• Experience managing capital projects using standard methods.
• Six Sigma and continuous improvement experience; certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and handover of new equipment and processes from R&D to Manufacturing.
• Evaluate feasibility of producing new or modified products on existing equipment.
• Establish standard operating conditions to improve safety, quality, cost, and performance.
• Troubleshoot operational issues using structured problem solving and Six Sigma.
• Develop operating, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for equipment.
• Collaborate with HQ engineering, project management and international teams to deliver solutions.
• Develop capital project proposals and manage approved projects.
• Analyze data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain machine standards and training for personnel.
