Job summary

DISHER is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to partner with customers on manufacturing and project-based work, leading projects, communicating updates, and delivering engineering solutions. You will collaborate across teams, manage timelines and budgets, and apply lean and Six Sigma methods to improve processes.

The role emphasizes hands-on floor involvement, cross-industrial experience, and a commitment to customer success and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or similar.
• 2–5 years in manufacturing engineering.
• Lean manufacturing familiarity (value stream mapping, 5S, standard work).
• Six Sigma training or Green Belt+ preferred, with DMAIC and SPC knowledge.
• Advanced manufacturing engineering experience (process/line layout, equipment procurement).
• Capital project management: scopes, budgets, schedules; vendor coordination.

• Provide excellent engineering solutions and go above and beyond for customers

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a similar degree
• 2- 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience
• Experience working with a diverse range of industries
• Lean manufacturing familiarity, including value stream mapping, 5S, standard work, and kaizen/continuous improvement facilitation to drive waste reduction and improved process flow
• Strong communication skills to update and build rapport with customers
• Six Sigma training or certification (Green Belt or higher preferred), with hands-on application of DMAIC problem solving, root cause analysis, and statistical process control (SPC)
• Advanced Manufacturing Engineering experience, including process and line layout design, equipment specification and procurement, installation oversight, and FAT/SAT qualification of new equipment and lines
• Capital project management skills, including developing scopes, budgets, and schedules; coordinating contractors and vendors; and delivering equipment installations and plant expansions on time and on budget
• Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes, with a willingness to step onto the floor and be hands-on when needed
• Previous experience working with quality teams and ability to take quality into account when thinking through runs, lines, and throughputs of installations
• Willingness to do what it takes to provide exceptional service and grow the team
