Job summary

Honeycomb Company of America is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to apply engineering knowledge to all primary aircraft systems and ensure conformance with specifications. You will plan parts, equipment, tools, and facility utilization to meet manufacturing goals while aligning with approved procedures and quality directives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent from a college or university.
  • Manufacturing Data Development (Build Plans & Tool Design).
  • CAD (SolidWorks, DXF Manipulation).
  • Aerospace or defense contract experience (preferred).

  • Provide internal customers with correct products and services, on-time.
  • Create, communicate, and accomplish daily department schedules.
  • Retain part traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Utilize Cetec ERP to keep program data current.
  • Review customer data packages, specifications, and quality requirements for manufacturing compliance.
  • Compose part specific manufacturing instructions including material usage and labor time estimation.
  • Work with production to develop necessary tooling and fixtures.
  • Serve as engineering support for investigation of CARs and PQDRs.

Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer applies knowledge and skills concerned with all primary aircraft systems critical to the performance of the aircraft and flows down contractual requirements to ensure the product conforms to its intended form, fit, and function. Determines the parts, equipment, and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications and plans the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to HCOA approved Operation Procedures, Quality Conformance, Testing, and Technical Data or Directive.

Responsibilities
  • Provide internal customers with correct products and services, on-time.
  • Create, communicate, and accomplish daily department schedules.
  • Retain part traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Utilize Cetec ERP to keep program data current.
  • Full and complete understanding of HWI 42301-1 series and all other pertinent HCOA Operation Procedures or Work Instructions.
  • Review customer supplied data packages, specifications, internal processes, and quality requirements for manufacturing compliance.
  • Compose part specific manufacturing instructions including material usage, process requirements, manufacturing method guidance, and labor time estimation.
  • Works directly with other departments via an ERP system to ensure effective material resource planning.
  • Provides production team support to address any issues, nonconformances, and technical data interpretation.
  • Performs manufacturing process reviews by studying product requirements; applying knowledge of fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Produces technical data as necessary to assist with manufacturing including 2D reference drawings and cut files for 2D machining.
  • Produces technical data as necessary to assist with manufacturing, including 3D CAD Files, Mylars, Shop Aides, Dimensioned Drawings, and any other applicable media.
  • Works with production to develop necessary tooling including forms tooling and medium complexity bond fixtures.
  • Can independently perform all essential duties and responsibilities listed above.
  • Provides training and oversight to Manufacturing Engineers I and II.
  • Works directly with external customers when necessary to field technical concerns.
  • Works with production to develop necessary tooling from authority datasets, including complex contoured drill and bond fixtures.
  • Serve as engineering support for investigation of CARs and PQDRs.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent from a college or university.
  • Manufacturing Data Development (Build Plans & Tool Design).
  • CAD ( SolidWorks, DXF Manipulation).
  • Broad knowledge and comprehension of manufacturing processes, technical data and drawings.
  • Aerospace or defense contract experience (preferred).
Job Details

Job is onsite, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm.
