Job summary

Raytheon Vision Systems in Goleta, California, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our onsite team. You will write manufacturing plans and instructions, generate Bills of Material (BOMs), participate in tooling reviews, and review hardware for compliance with engineering specifications, quality, safety, and security requirements.

You will identify root causes of defects, update work instructions, tooling, and processes; perform troubleshooting to support production activities; and

Qualifications

• STEM degree required (Science, Tech, Engineering or Math).
• Minimum 2 years of engineering experience.
• Experience with manufacturing processes is preferred.

We have an immediate opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Goleta, California

What You Will Do

• Write manufacturing plans and instructions in accordance with engineering specifications, quality requirements, safety needs, and security requirements.
• Generate Bills of Material (BOMs).

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Engineering experience is required.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Understanding of military and commercial manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of ERP and MES systems, SAP/ CMES experienced preferred.
• Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience in reading technical drawings as well as using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) for daily communications, tracking, and documenting manufacturing processes for assembly
• Experience or knowledge of Statistical Process Control, Gage R&Rs, Capability Studies, Design of Experiments (DOE) or other quantitative continuous improvement tools.
• Experience in a production environment closely teaming with all levels of manufacturing stakeholders.Budgeting and presentation skills.
