RTX is seeking a engineer for onsite work in McKinney, TX to interface with suppliers, engineering, and leadership to drive cost reductions and defect mitigation using statistical methods.

You will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment with RF microelectronics (Fire Control AESAs, EW, SATCOM), and learn processes and equipment used to assemble hardware, with focus on MIL-STD-883, J-STD-001H, and AS9100 standards.

Qualifications

• Requires troubleshooting to establish root cause corrective action.
• Experience driving continuous improvement via Six Sigma methods.
• Experience supporting development builds in a clean room environment.
• Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

What You Will Do

• You will interface with both internal and external suppliers, engineering, and program leadership personnel to develop cost reduction activities, mitigate process defects, and promote effective design choices through statistical analysis.
• Gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment with development RF Microelectronics (Fire Control AESAs, Electronic Warfare, SATCOMs, etc.)

What You Will Learn

• You will have the opportunity to resolve product specific design and process challenges for cutting edge RF microelectronics used in land, sea, airborne, and space applications
• Intimate details of the processes and equipment used to assemble hardware.
• Materials and process experience with an in-depth knowledge of MIL-STD-883, J-STD-001H, AS9100, RF microelectronics in a production environment.
• Focuses on operational plans with short to medium term (1-2 year) impact on the suite of programs. Recommends and implements new products, processes, policies and standards to support the functional strategy.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.
• Currently possess or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Expierence troubleshooting and maneuvering through issues to establish root cause corrective action.
• Experience driving continuous improvement through process and cycle time reductions using Six Sigma principles
• Experience supporting ongoing development builds in a clean room environment
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

• Advanced degree in aforementioned disciplines. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
• Knowledge of program life cycles and criticality of achieving MRL/TRL requirements
• Knowledge of DFMA & DPD processes
• Knowledge of surface mount technology (SMT), adhesives, wire bond, vacuum lamination, conformal coat, and other electronic assembly processes.
• Experience with running designed experiments (DOEs), statistical data handling analysis.
• Knowledge of metrology processes to diagnose product specific issues. (CSAM, Xray, FTIR, XRF, SEM/EDS, XPS, etc.)
• Knowledge of capacity analysis and purchasing of capital equipment to support program needs

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
