A Day in the Life
At Medtronic Eatontown, we believe organ donation is a selfless gift, and we are honored to be part of the process to transform human tissue donations from families experiencing loss into medical products that alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life for patients around the world. We make allografts, which are commonly used in spinal fusion surgery. The allograft works as a scaffold that allows the natural bone to grow through its surface.

Our manufacturing facility is certified as an American Association Tissue Bank (AATB) and regularly audited by external regulatory bodies. As a certified tissue bank, our facility is entrusted to maximize the gift of donation to improve the lives of as many people as possible. Each donation is rigorously tracked and tested to ensure it is safe to process and use. The specific bones (tibia, fibula, etc.) recovered from the donor are documented from recovery through the manufacturing of the implantable medical device.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of the Medtronic OLDP program
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Work experience with the following: FDA Quality System Regulations, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), ISO 13485, ISO 9001 standards or equivalent.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$81,600.00 - $122,400.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
