Job summary

Analogic in Canton, MA seeks a manufacturing/industrial engineer to join our team. You will provide hands-on engineering support to manufacturing and service teams, troubleshoot equipment and processes, and lead root cause investigations with scalable improvements to reduce downtime and improve yield.

You will track metrics, design control plans, support automation (PLC, robotics), and collaborate across Operations, Quality, and Maintenance while driving Lean Six Sigma initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related engineering field.
• 3–10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or production support.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a track record of implementing lasting corrective actions.
• Experience with automation systems (PLC, robotics, automated assembly/test equipment).
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, controls, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and anticipate operational risks.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clear documentation of issues, actions, and lessons learned.
• Program, modify, and support automation systems including PLCs, robotics, and automated assembly/test equipment.
• Support equipment setup, optimization, troubleshooting, and validation.
• Partner with Maintenance and vendors to boost automation reliability.
• Identify new automation opportunities that improve safety, throughput, and cost.
• Develop and execute improvement strategies aligned with business goals.
• Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and CI initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
• Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and standardization.
• Strengthen long-term manufacturing capability, scalability, and resilience.
• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, work instructions, routings, and tooling.
• Ensure processes are robust, repeatable, and capable of meeting quality and production targets.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) through DFM/DFA reviews and process validation.

• Support quality investigations, CAPA, and audit activities.

• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) through DFM/DFA reviews and process validation.


• Keep manufacturing documentation accurate and up to date.

Collaborate Across the Organization

• Work closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Engineering.


• Support quality investigations, CAPA, and audit activities.


• Ensure compliance with applicable quality systems and regulatory requirements.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related engineering field.


• 3–10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or production support.


• Strong troubleshooting skills and a track record of implementing lasting corrective actions.
