Job summary

Amphenol Network Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to improve assembly and test efficiency, reduce costs, and influence design early in the product life cycle. The role works across production and engineering to implement Lean principles and continuous improvement on the shop floor in Liberty Lake, WA.

You will generate drawings in SolidWorks, create work instructions in Excel, and lead projects to optimize processes and tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field is required.
• 0-3 years of engineering experience in a low volume/high mix manufacturing environment involving sheet metal parts or components fabrication is required.
• Packaging experience is a plus.
• Optical Fiber experience is a plus.
• Lean Manufacturing/ 5S/Six Sigma experience is a plus.
• Small-scale Automation and/or Robotics experience is a plus.
• Strong Technical Writing skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with production personnel to support daily production objectives and Continuous Improvement.
• Determine optimum production processes with Lean methodologies to maximize efficiency and profitability.
• Lead New Product Introduction projects to support strategic product development.
• Internalize manufacturing documentation and convert engineering designs into production-ready documents.
• Create Engineering Change Orders to drive product design improvements (Drawing and BOM revisions).
• Generate Manufacturing Drawings using 3-D modeling software (SolidWorks).
• Produce Assembly and Packaging Work Instructions using Microsoft Excel.
• Develop process improvements through design/specification and tooling fabrication.
• Lead projects for assembly of fabricated components to complete Finished Goods efficiently.
• Provide data to support cost reduction initiatives and estimate assembly times for new/current products.
• Contribute to DFM/DFMA analyses with product development engineering.
• Assist Quality and Supply Chain in addressing manufacturing concerns with suppliers.
