Job summary

General Motors in Warren, MI seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for Flexible Fabrication to enable low- to medium-volume production of metal components. You will drive process improvements, streamline digital workflows, and support value streams for on-time delivery.

The role requires hands-on manufacturing experience and collaboration across Product Engineering, Application Engineering, and Pontiac Metal Center operations. Some travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent engineering experience required.
• 2+ years in manufacturing engineering, automation, or prototype-to-production work.
• Experience with manufacturing operations, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and travel periodically.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end manufacturing execution for Flexible Fabrication parts and assemblies.
• Develop and optimize processes: laser cutting, sheet metal forming, bending.
• Resolve non-routine technical issues using engineering judgment and structured methods.
• Lead continuous-improvement initiatives: standardization, digital workflows, automation.
• Define process requirements, timing, cost, quality, and resources for new programs.
• Support engineering changes and ensure production readiness.
• Mentor junior engineers and support demonstrations and tours.
