Job Description

Experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management. May manage projects or processes with general supervision. Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures. Recommends enhancements to systems and processes. Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.

Essential Functions
  • Leads development of manufacturing assembly strategies for new products, including process design and development, process documentation, and fixture design and development.
  • Plans and supports the build and modification of mechanical and electronics systems including assembly method/work instruction generation, tooling design support, material/process development, facilities/equipment planning, implementation of design changes, and resolution of manufacturing, quality, and reliability issues.
  • Leads root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Participates in factory support activities: Lean Huddles, continuous improvement initiatives, failure investigations, and audits.
  • Uses lean principles, process technology, and automation to continuously improve manufacturing environments, driving cost leadership, world-class quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Partners with Engineering, Quality, and Continuous Improvement to integrate process integrity methods such as FMEAs and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Provides strong written and oral communication within and outside the organization to drive solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or Graduate Degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills
  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or similar field.
  • IPC training and certification.
  • Experience in manufacturing, assembly, and testing of complex electronics, optics, or electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting electronic circuit boards and electronics testing processes.
  • Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and influencing organizational change.
  • Certification in Lean principles, Six Sigma, mistake proofing, etc.
