Job summary

Birdon America Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Portland, CT to plan and execute design, drafting, and continuous improvement of products and processes. You will create 2D drawings and 3D models, develop manufacturing-ready prints, and manage BOMs and part numbers in ERP systems.

You’ll support fabrication, machining, and assembly teams while improving manufacturability and reducing waste. The role requires a relevant degree and 2+ years in manufacturing engineering, with CAD

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in manufacturing/production engineering supporting machined components.
• Proficiency with CAD software for production-ready designs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute engineering work for design, drafting, and continuous improvement of products and processes.
• Create 2D drawings and 3D models with manufacturing prints.
• Develop manufacturing-ready drawings per standards and validate designs with real-world constraints.
• Maintain BOMs and part numbers in the ERP system with accuracy.
• Provide engineering support to fabrication, machining, and assembly teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturability and reduce waste.
• Contribute to NPI by transitioning concepts to production.
• Ensure safety and compliance with OSHA and quality standards.
