Job summary

Boxabl in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize CNC processes, drive lean improvements, and support new product development in a fast-paced studio environment.

You will program CNC mills, create setup sheets, analyze process data, and collaborate with quality, maintenance, and supply chain to ensure product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Reads and interprets GD&T on engineering drawings.
  • Experience with CNC machining principles: feeds, speeds, toolpaths, kinematics.
  • Familiar with CAM/CAD software and shop-floor documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CNC programs for milling operations using CAM software.
  • Set up and prove out new CNC programs on machining centers; create setup sheets and tool lists.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time and costs in manufacturing.
  • Support PFMEA, control plans, and RCCA for nonconforming parts and NPI feedback.

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing our production processes, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, with experience in lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and product development.**Job Duties and Responsibilities****CNC Programming & Process Development*** Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software (Mastercam, WoodWOP, VCarve or equivalent) for milling operations* Set up and prove out new CNC programs on machining centers* Create and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, and work instructions for CNC operations* Perform first-article inspection and collaborate with quality to validate dimensional conformance**Continuous Improvement & Engineering Support*** Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time, scrap, and machining costs* Analyze machine performance data and recommend corrective actions for recurring quality or throughput issues* Support PFMEA, control plans, and process documentation in accordance with company quality standards* Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) for nonconforming part**Tooling & Equipment*** Select and specify cutting tools, work holding, and fixtures for new and existing jobs* Coordinate with maintenance and machine operators on preventive maintenance schedules and equipment issues* Evaluate and recommend tooling and machine upgrades to improve process capability**Collaboration & Documentation*** Interface with production, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve manufacturing issues* Support new product introduction (NPI) by providing DFM feedback and early-stage process planning## Qualifications**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*** Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field* 0–5 years of professional experience (internship and co-op experience considered)* Ability to read and interpret GD&T on engineering drawings* Familiarity with CNC machining principles including feeds, speeds, toolpaths, and machine kinematics* Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent)* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail* Effective written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working in a shop-floor environment**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*** Hands-on experience operating or programming CNC mills or lathes* CAM software experience* Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 5S methodologies* SOLIDWORKS Certification (CSWA or higher) a plus**Work Environment/Physical Demands**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
