Job summary

John Deere is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Missouri to drive continuous improvement, improve quality and efficiency on the assembly line, and support tooling and equipment. You will develop visual work instructions and contribute to cost-reducing projects.

The role requires a degree in engineering or operations, plus experience with manufacturing processes, quality systems, and engineering tools. Onsite work with competitive pay and benefits is provided.

Qualifications

Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering experience from projects, internships or work.
Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality, tooling, preventive maintenance and facilities.
Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases.
Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools.
Experience developing and deploying operator work instructions.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
1+ years of experience with small strategic or larger tactical projects.

Responsibilities

Actively participate in Continuous Improvement to improve safety, quality, efficiency and delivery.
Investigate quality issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Apply mistake proofing to high-risk processes and recurring quality issues.
Develop and modify Operator Method Sheets (visual work instructions).
Support JDAAT and manufacturing equipment in assigned areas.
Develop and improve plans for parts locations and storage.
Support Quality Improvement Teams to improve assembly quality.
