Job summary

Howmet Aerospace, Dover, NJ, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, install, and maintain capital equipment for on-site production. You will lead projects from scope to implementation, provide manufacturing support, and drive process improvements across facilities to enhance safety, throughput, and reliability.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering plus 3-year related experience.
• Experience reading building prints and troubleshooting equipment.
• Ability to design, install, and upgrade capital equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, construct and install new capital equipment for manufacturing.
• Lead projects including defining scope, cost justification, developing project plans, managing implementation, and monitoring results.
• Provide engineering support for manufacturing areas to resolve technical problems related to manufacturing equipment.
• Investigate and recommend new manufacturing methods and equipment to reduce scrap and improve productivity.
• Improve the availability of equipment through data analysis and root cause problem solving.
• Prepare Instructions outlining operating procedures for manufacturing & maintenance.
• Maintain and upgrade building and equipment systems including vacuum pump, cooling tower, etc.
• Evaluate opportunities to outsource or transfer production based on capacity and cost.
