Job summary

Divergent in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering role focused on productionizing advanced manufacturing capital equipment, including laser powder bed fusion systems and automated assembly gear.

You will own manufacturing readiness from development to production handoff, write clear work instructions, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with design, automation, software, and operations teams to improve manufacturability and cycle times.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
1+ years (Engineer II), 5+ years (Senior) or 7+ years (Staff) of relevant experience.
Ownership of complex areas and strong technical documentation.
Experience with capital equipment or industrial automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary manufacturing development owner for factory modules, subsystems, or processes.
Develop understanding of architectures, interfaces, and failure modes.
Own manufacturing readiness from development through production handoff.
Create and maintain work instructions, SOPs, test procedures, and process docs.
Lead troubleshooting, RCCA, and corrective actions to improve reliability and cycle times.
Collaborate with design, automation, software, operations, quality, and supply chain teams.
