Job summary

Container Products Company (CPC) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Currie, NC team. You’ll provide hands‑on engineering support on the shop floor and translate customer requirements into practical designs using CAD tools.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to resolve issues and improve processes, while developing and maintaining product designs and BOMs in the ERP system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, or comparable CAD systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn CPC’s ERP and engineering systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on engineering support to manufacturing and help resolve shop‑floor technical issues.
• Create and maintain drawings and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical.
• Support design reviews, test planning, and manufacturability improvements.
• Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) within the ERP system.
• Convert legacy paper and 2D drawings into accurate 3D models and documentation.
• Maintain drawing revisions and controlled engineering documentation.
• Interpret customer specifications and translate requirements into actionable engineering and manufacturing information.
• Work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to solve problems and improve processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve product designs, manufacturability, and engineering processes.
