Job summary

CPC is seeking a student intern/co-op in engineering or science to evaluate design changes, perform tests, and assist in fixture/tooling development. You will use CAD and predictive engineering tools, contribute to prototyping, and support manufacturing teams while maintaining a safe workplace.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, attention to detail, and the ability to work under time constraints with limited supervision. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or above in engineering or science.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to solve complex technical issues.
• Strong aptitude for details, data analysis, and process control.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity; adaptable in new environments.
• Self-starter with hands-on attitude and urgency to get things done.
• Team player capable of cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong computer skills with Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Travel up to 5% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate changes or improvements to the design or specification of existing products.
• Perform tests of varying complexity on new, existing, and competitive materials and products.
• Assist in developing fixtures and tooling for lab, design engineering, manufacturing, and quality.
• Assist in product design using CAD, predictive tools, and prototyping via additive manufacturing.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Adhere to all safety regulations.
• Support CPC core values.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
