Job summary

Wastequip, located in Salisbury, NC, is seeking a Design Engineer to design waste containers and related products per company standards and customer requirements. You will develop BOMs, release drawings, and coordinate manufacturing launches for new or revised products.

The role requires a mechanical/industrial ABET-accredited engineering degree, hands-on experience with AutoCAD and Inventor, and at least two years in manufacturing (preferably metal fabrication).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or closely related Engineering discipline (ABET-accredited) required.
• Design experience in AutoCAD/Inventor.
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing operation, preferably metal fabrication.
• Finite Element Analysis experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of Machining, Welding, Fabrication and/or Waste Industry experience a plus.
• Safety-minded with strong technical, problem solving, and analytic skills.
• Effective communication and ability to meet deadlines.
• Team-oriented with ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Produce Sales drawings for customer approval.
• Produce production drawings and specifications.
• Create complete Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Release products IAW company processes.
• Maintain product data & documentation within Vault & ERP.
• Lead projects to align product data from multiple Business Units.
• Conduct research and create design concepts/proposals for projects.
• As required, use AutoCAD (2D) & Inventor (3D) for designs.
• Travel to Wastequip production & office facilities to evaluate product and receive training.
