Job summary

You’ll create drawings and 3D models in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical, maintain BOMs in our ERP, and support design reviews and manufacturability improvements. A bachelor’s in engineering is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer specifications and translate requirements into actionable engineering and manufacturing information.
• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to solve problems and improve processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve product designs, manufacturability, and engineering processes.

CPC designs and manufactures specialized containers for radioactive and hazardous materials, supporting customers across the nuclear energy, Department of Energy, and critical infrastructure sectors.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys seeing their work move from a drawing or model to the shop floor. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to solve manufacturing challenges, develop and maintain product designs, and turn customer requirements into practical solutions.

This is an entry-to-mid-level opportunity , and we welcome both engineers with a few years of manufacturing experience and recent graduates with relevant internship or co‑op experience.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, or comparable CAD systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn CPC’s ERP and engineering systems.

Experience That’s a Plus

• 2-4 years of engineering, drafting, or manufacturing experience - recent graduates with relevant internship or co‑op experience are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical.
• Familiarity with ANSI Y14.2, Y14.3, and Y14.5 drawing standards.
• Exposure to ASTM, AISI, NQA-1, 10 CFR Appendix B, or 49 CFR packaging requirements.
• Experience with ERP-based BOMs, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement.
• Electrical drafting experience.
