Job summary

Caterpillar's Lafayette Engine Center is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Process Support to lead development and implementation of safe, lean, cost-effective manufacturing processes for machining operations. You will collaborate with Operations, Quality, Safety, and Supply Chain to deliver improvements in safety, quality, velocity, and cost.

The role requires strong manufacturing engineering fundamentals, automation experience, and ability to translate production needs into practical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans and process documentation is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and problem-solving methods.

Responsibilities

• Document current-state processes and develop future-state manufacturing concepts and layouts.
• Improve machine control user knowledge from awareness to advanced level.
• Develop process requirements, equipment concepts, and technical specifications for manufacturing equipment and tooling.
• Support New Capital Introduction, equipment replacement, capacity, safety, quality, and process improvement projects.
• Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure readiness for implementation and production startup.
• Lead PFMEA, Control Plans, and risk assessments for process reviews.
