Job summary

Precision Resource in Vernon Hills, Illinois is seeking Manufacturing Engineers to join our compact yet strong division that delivers high‑volume metal parts for automotive, aerospace, and other industries. You will support daily production and drive process improvements in a hands‑on, team‑oriented environment.

You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, design fixtures in SolidWorks, analyze data with Power BI, and advance equipment performance.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience with machining and/or tool making.
• 1–5+ years experience in metals manufacturing or related industry.
• Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCad.
• Strong analytical abilities and mathematical fundamentals.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and safety/maintenance documents.
• Knowledge of production machinery in a metals manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• Capability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Proficient in MS applications and outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and coordinate integration of machinery into manufacturing processes.
• Develop and write equipment specifications, performance requirements, and cost analyses.
• Design fixtures, gauges, and custom machines using SolidWorks; procure tooling.
• Develop manufacturing quotes and compare suppliers.
• Recommend improvements in methods, equipment, and procedures.
• Model alternate processing methods and test feasibility of new applications.
• Optimize processes via capital projects, statistics, DOE and procedural changes.
• Support production by troubleshooting machinery, conveyors, and robotic systems.
• Identify and resolve tool and machine failures; work with AI to identify failure modes.
• Create and analyze Power Automate and Power BI reports for production impact.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations for customers and leadership.
• Participate in safety initiatives.
