Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement efficient, cost-effective manufacturing processes for complex metal assemblies in a fast-paced automotive environment. You will lead production launches, develop layouts for facilities, and drive improvements in throughput and quality at our Holland, MI plant.

Ideal candidates will have a B.S. in Engineering and hands-on experience with automated assembly, BIW/MFG knowledge, AutoCAD, and Excel-based analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Automated assembly experience.
• Cell layout experience.
• MS Office experience.
• BIW product understanding & experience.
• Sheet metal fabrication and assembly experience.
• AutoCad experience.
• Plexus experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop manufacturing processes, including production flow and assembly methods.
• Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
• Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new or revised products.
• Design, develop, test or source and cost-justify tools, machinery and equipment for manufacturing methods.
• Create and maintain job elements sheets and standard work sheets.
• Perform product/process analysis for cost reduction and quality improvement.
• Represent manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
• Lead lean manufacturing initiatives, including cost reductions and productivity improvements.
