Job summary

FMI is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and advance production of high-temperature carbon/carbon composites in a 7x24 facility in Maine. You will design new equipment, lead root-cause analyses, and work with maintenance teams to improve safety, quality, reliability, and cycle times.

The role requires a BS in mechanical engineering and 8+ years in manufacturing, with hands-on willingness and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS in mechanical engineering and 8+ years manufacturing experience.
• Must solve problems with data-driven analysis and coordinate projects.
• Excellent communication and hands-on production work readiness.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify new equipment for future production.
• Perform root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Production and Maintenance using Lean/Six Sigma and MRL.
• Utilize PFMEAs, design reviews, GD&T, and related tools.
• Support 7x24 manufacturing operations in assigned areas.
