Job description

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer – Aerospace

Location: Kinston, North Carolina (on-site)

Capgemini Engineering seeks several Manufacturing Engineers for an exciting aerospace project in the Kinston area.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement innovative, cost-effective manufacturing solutions to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
  2. Support projects by influencing key decisions and facilitating communication among internal teams.
  3. Identify, assess, and mitigate manufacturing risks.
  4. Manage configuration control and lead changes throughout the product lifecycle.
  5. Incorporate engineering design changes into manufacturing operations.
  6. Create and manage Conditions of Supply documentation.
  7. Define product key characteristics and address production issues through root cause analysis.
  8. Support Manufacturing Flow Teams (MFT) and collaborate across departments to resolve issues.
  9. Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on manufacturing engineering expertise.
  10. Analyze the impact of engineering modifications and ensure readiness for implementation.
  11. Work with the Design Office to ensure manufacturability and smooth industrialization.
  12. Prioritize tasks aligned with goals and production objectives.
  13. Promote a customer-focused attitude and act as a change leader.
  14. Lead continuous improvement and solve multifunctional problems.
  15. Supervise installation activities, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements.
  16. Respond to technical queries from departments and partners.
  17. Review and approve engineering design changes within scope.
  18. Present technical updates clearly to management.
  19. Interpret and verify engineering drawings and documentation.
  20. Develop manufacturing and assembly strategies for aircraft components.
  21. Specify tools and equipment to ensure tolerances and efficiency.
  22. Collaborate with engineering, logistics, quality, and production teams to implement strategies.
  23. Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to R&D projects.
Your Skills and Experience
  1. Support and sustain aircraft integration and testing, incorporating team input.
  2. Promote process improvement using metrics like Station Time Variance (STV).
  3. Standardize operations with documented procedures.
  4. Optimize production processes for safety and efficiency.
  5. Ensure accurate documentation and configuration control.
  6. Integrate technical data into manufacturing dossiers.
  7. Support troubleshooting during testing, ground operations, and customer acceptance.
