Manufacturing Engineer - Aerospace - 079446

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer – Aerospace
Location: Kinston, North Carolina (on-site)

Capgemini Engineering is seeking several Manufacturing Engineers for an exciting aerospace project in the Kinston area.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement innovative, cost-effective solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and improve efficiency.
  2. Support projects by influencing key decisions and facilitating communication with internal teams.
  3. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks in manufacturing processes.
  4. Manage configuration control and lead product changes throughout the lifecycle.
  5. Incorporate engineering design changes into manufacturing operations.
  6. Create and manage Conditions of Supply documentation.
  7. Define product key characteristics and address production issues through root cause analysis.
  8. Support Manufacturing Function Teams (MFT) by collaborating with production, quality, and engineering teams.
  9. Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on manufacturing expertise.
  10. Analyze the impact of engineering modifications and ensure readiness for implementation.
  11. Work with the Design Office to ensure manufacturability and smooth industrialization.
  12. Prioritize tasks aligned with goals and production objectives.
  13. Promote a customer-focused attitude and lead change within the manufacturing organization.
  14. Lead continuous improvement efforts and solve multi-functional problems.
  15. Supervise installation activities, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements.
  16. Respond to technical queries from departments and partners.
  17. Review and approve engineering design changes within scope.
  18. Present technical updates clearly to management.
  19. Verify and validate engineering drawings and documentation.
  20. Develop manufacturing and assembly strategies for aircraft components.
  21. Specify tools and equipment to ensure tolerances and efficiency.
  22. Collaborate with engineering, logistics, quality, and production teams to implement strategies.
  23. Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing and assembly, contributing to R&D projects.

Your Skills and Experience

  1. Update workbooks, support tool orders.
  2. Support aircraft integration and testing, incorporating team input.
  3. Promote process improvement using metrics like Station Time Variance (STV).
  4. Standardize operations with SOPs.
  5. Optimize production processes for safety and efficiency.
  6. Manage configuration control and documentation.
  7. Integrate technical data into manufacturing dossiers.
  8. Support troubleshooting during testing, ground operations, and customer acceptance.
