Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will support manufacturing process improvement and validation while providing daily engineering support to quality and operations teams. This role will apply engineering principles to manufacturing production, industrial layouts, process troubleshooting, and prototype validation. The engineer will spend time both in an office environment performing analysis, reporting, and design work and on the shop floor or in the lab addressing manufacturing-process issues. The position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing and machining environments, engineering drawings, blueprints, and production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study production methods, time, motion, and operational processes to establish production standards and identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Support daily manufacturing operations through process improvement, troubleshooting, validation, and prototype evaluation.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation to establish and maintain quality and reliability standards.
  • Partner with quality and production engineering teams to validate new manufacturing processes, process changes, and related production requirements.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and prepare reports, charts, graphs, diagrams, workflow documentation, floor layouts, and other materials to identify deviations and support process improvements.
  • Assist with production planning by considering worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Observe equipment and manufacturing operations to verify compliance with quality assurance and process standards.
  • Support prototype design, testing reports, manufacturing-process analysis, and prototype validation.
Required Qualifications
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience; internship experience may be considered toward the experience requirement.
  • Manufacturing and/or machining environment experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing process improvement, validation, troubleshooting, or production engineering.
  • Ability to create sketches and engineering drawings and perform common engineering computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, specifications, and computer-generated reports.
  • Experience with engineering-related computer applications and software, including Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented team player capable of supporting cross-functional quality, production, and operations teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting both office-based engineering activities and hands-on shop-floor manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with prototype design and validation.
  • Experience performing manufacturing-process analysis and developing testing reports.
  • Experience working directly with quality and production engineering teams.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process innovation and continuous improvement.
Why This Role?

This position offers an opportunity to contribute directly to meaningful manufacturing engineering work supporting complex industrial production. You’ll gain hands‑on exposure to manufacturing process improvement, troubleshooting, prototype validation, quality, and production operations while spending significant time working directly with manufacturing processes on the shop floor. Cullerton Group provides a professional environment with growth potential and the opportunity to support a global leader in heavy machinery and manufacturing.
