Job summary

Dana is seeking a senior project engineer in Warren, MI to design and implement high-volume manufacturing processes that boost throughput and quality. You will lead cross-functional efforts, draw on lean and Six Sigma methods, and mentor engineers and technicians while aligning projects with safety and regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate across engineering, production, and quality teams to integrate new technologies into existing systems, driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in engineering roles.
• 5+ years in project engineering of high-volume production machines.
• Knowledge of modular, CNC, conventional machining, or MIG welding and forming processes.
• Ability to interpret set-ups and specifications.
• AutoCAD knowledge.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex manufacturing processes that improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.


• Lead cross-functional projects using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to achieve measurable performance improvements.


• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to integrate new products and technologies into existing manufacturing systems.

Education and Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience


• 5+ years of experience in project engineering of high-volume production machines and working with various manufacturing machines.


• Knowledge of modular, CNC, conventional machining, or MIG welding and cold and warm forming processes.


• Skill in working with various mechanical equipment (assemblies, fixtures, machines, etc.).


• Ability to interpret set-ups and specifications.


• AutoCAD knowledge

Skills

• Deep knowledge of manufacturing systems, process design, automation, and industrial engineering principles, especially within automotive environments.


• Ability to lead root cause analysis, interpret complex data, and implement high-impact solutions.


• Proven ability to manage large-scale engineering projects.


• Work effectively with teams across engineering, production, quality, and leadership.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences and influence decision-making.
