Job summary

Crane Company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes in the Radiation Monitoring division. You will analyze production methods and equipment to drive efficiency, quality, and cost reductions, collaborating with multiple departments on cross-functional projects.

You will own manufacturing processes, lead small teams, and ensure smooth shop floor operations while implementing process improvements and equipment upgrades to support nuclear

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• 4+ years of experience in Manufacturing or Process Engineering.
• Strong communication, leadership and ownership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes within Radiation Monitoring.
• Provide day-to-day shop floor support and troubleshooting.
• Create/modify manufacturing travelers and routers.
• Select and implement manufacturing equipment and tooling.
• Dispostion of non-conforming product and initiating CAPAs.
• Lead small teams on moderate-scope improvement projects.

Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes within the Radiation Monitoring manufacturing department, focusing on improving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness by analyzing production methods, equipment, and materials, often collaborating with other departments to identify and implement improvements across nuclear product lines.

Responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities

• Process/product mastery and ownership
• Day-to day shop floor support
• Manufacturing traveler/router creation and modification
• Manufacturing equipment selection and implementation
• Disposition of non-conforming product and equipment
• Product and process failure analysis and troubleshooting
• Fixturing design and implementation
• Manufacturing procedure creation, modification, and associated operator training
• Engineering change management
• Capital Equipment project justifications, submissions and management
• Manufacturing process and quality control through collaboration with operators, data collection, and trend tracking
• Manufacturing process audits
• Purchasing manufacturing tooling and consumables
• Scrap reduction through process improvement projects

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college required
• At least 4 years of experience preferred in Manufacturing or Process Engineering. Candidates possessing degrees in the following areas will be considered: Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Engineering Physics, Manufacturing Engineering Technology
